Color Day :: Asian Market

Problem : Grey, Gloomy, Wet Snow, Mushy Day.

Solution : Asian Market.

Talk about sensory overload. Hands down the best marketing, c'mon Man King Power! I couldn't resist taking home some of the candy to photograph later with better camera's. So what do you do to fight the gloom outdoors?

Holy Macro!

Well hello, a fun little gadget from Photojojo arrived today, a new wide angle / macro lens...for your phone! Ok at first, a little skeptical, it's magnetic so you must attach a little adhesive ring, which if you use an iphone, you will need to remove it after each use, because the cover doesn't fit. But...it's not that big of a deal, given the results...I mean the macro lens is amazing given the whole thing cost only $20. What do you think?

Pretty good for a phone right? And, an A+  for Photojojo too, great customer service~

Monday again??

Well hello again, my apologies for my December hiatus, had a project that needed all my attention, so really I had nothing of interest to share, unless you were dying to see a video of my son playing the recorder at elementary school Winter concert...No? It was an odd thing to spend so much time in one room, face to the computer, I was beginning to feel like a shut in, and going to Starbucks was my only escape. But it's over, and I am crazy for Christmas! So for this week I"ll be sharing some seasonal images for Color Day and of course a new playlist~ Below is an old video but it fit my state of mind last week, Enjoy your day~

Presently on Papernstitch blog!

Hi, shameless self promotion here...a nice email just rolled in from Brittni at PapernStitch, and not only is Telling Stories a featured shop of the day, but she posted a few images and some kind words on her blog about my shop. In case I haven't said it enough, I do sincerely appreciate the hard work and kindness from so many in the blog and handmade community~ xo

Monday Podcasts

Hi again, how was your weekend? Do anything fantastic?
Me and the Lulu's picked out a tree and did a little decorating, the tree is always my favorite part of the holiday. But I do love the decorating too, we went all white this year (pictures to come this week). Do you get into the decorating every year or do you put up the same stuff, just wondering if I'm the only nut about these things.

Big deadline week for me, which also means there is a huge pile of other things going on too, isn't it always like that? So in keeping with what Jimmy above says I"m going TRY to just roll with the craziness and stay in the present, now worrying about getting it all done. The Jimmy Cliff quote came from a podcast I watched last night.....one of my guilty pleasures and motivation while I'm on the treadmill. I downloaded a bunch yesterday and a series from NPR called Tiny Desk Concerts. What makes this even better...it's free.

 Coming up this week, another playlist, color day and perhaps a few photo goodies.
 Have a great day!

Color Day :: Blur

Hi again, for  Color day we decided to go with a technique found on the super blog Piewacket. As mentioned before I'm crazy for the Tilt-shift generator app on my iphone. There are of course other ways to achieve this effect with your camera, a simple manual way is to remove your lens from your camera mount, hold it up and tilt for the "tilt-shift" effect. I chose to use a Canon EOS 30D with a 100mm lens but I am going to experiment with others to get a larger focal area, what do you think? Would you give it a try? If so link em up, I'd love to see~

 I'm so charged to try more portraits, this weekend, hope yours is filled with something new too~
